Alternative Education Program

The Alternative Education Program was developed because we believe every child can learn. We understand that it is our responsibility as educators to provide an atmosphere that will facilitate learning, and provide a positive environment where learning can take place.  The emphasis is on the learning! This program is designed to meet the needs of students by supporting them beyond the traditional classroom setting when they do not qualify for other existing programs.

The goal of the program is to provide an exciting, innovative and new approach to learning, while at the same time helping students to recognize their individual abilities and potentials.

Though individual achievement is important, the main focus of this program is the building of interpersonal relationships, group/team building, self confidence, and the development of a cohesive, supportive community of learners.

This program is designed for eighth grade students who are interested, and in need of an alternative approach to learning.  Participation in this program is voluntary, and the decision to participate is solely that of the individual student.  We firmly believe in order for a student to be successful, the decision to join the Alternative Education Program has to be because the individual student believes that this is the right "fit" for them.
