Welcome to Mrs. Hanchar's Site! I am a Consultant Teacher working primarily with 1st grade and 2nd grade this year. I teach 2nd grade reading groups and push into Mrs. Pfeffer's 2nd grade class during writing and math to support students in her class. I also work with all 1st and 2nd grade classes to provide Math RTI (Response to Intervention) which I call "Math Club". The students love to come to "Math Club"! I work closely with classroom teachers on long range math plans so that I can pre-teach math skills. This helps "Math Club" students to be familiar with skills and concepts before they are introduced in the classroom and increases their confidence as well as success. I also provide re-teaching and additional practice of specific skills as needed. We focus on building number sense, basic math skills, and application of these skills to solve word problems.
