The Character Education Partnership is a national advocate and leader for the character education movement. Based in Washington, D.C., they are a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian coalition of organizations and individuals committed to fostering effective character education in our nation's K-12 schools. 

They are an umbrella organization for character education, serving as the leading resource for people and organizations that are integrating character education into their schools and communities.  CEP focuses on defining and encouraging effective practices and approaches to quality character education and provides a forum for the exchange of ideas.

The Search Institute is an independent nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide leadership, knowledge, and resources to promote healthy children, youth, and communities through the concept of the 40 Development Assets.  Nearly 600 communities in 45 states have initiatives based on the Search Institute's approach. 

At the heart of the Institute's work is the framework of 40 Developmental Assets, which are positive experiences, relationships, opportunities, and personal qualities that young people need to grow up healthy, caring, and responsible.  Created in the 1990s, the framework is grounded in research on child and adolescent development, risk prevention, and resiliency.  Assets are easy to build!  Asset building is about relationships - anyone can do it.  You can make a difference and help a young person succeed!

CASEL stands for "Collaborative for Academics, Social and Emotional Learning."  Their mission is to establish social and emotional learning (SEL) as an essential part of education.  Their vision is where children and adults are engaged life-long learners who are self-aware, caring and connected to others, and responsible in their decision-making.   

The website contains Resources, Publications, DVDs and Powerpoints, SEL Basics, SEL for Families, SEL in Schools, Assessment, Standards and Policies, to name a few.
