Laura Fitch Named Director of Student Services

The Penfield Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Laura Fitch as the new Director of Student Services, following Board of Education approval at its Aug. 19th meeting. Mrs. Fitch has served as a Special Education Administrator for PCSD since 2024 and previously served as a Social-Emotional Learning Integration Specialist and elementary special education teacher for the district. Prior to coming to Penfield, she was an elementary school teacher in the Rochester City School District.
Mrs. Fitch holds her administrative certification and master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Rochester, a master’s degree in Special Needs Education from the University of Nottingham, and a bachelor’s degree in Childhood/Special Education, English Literature from SUNY Geneseo.
She replaces Mr. Scott Drechsler and will begin her new position immediately.
The Board of Education also approved the following title changes: Mrs. Sheena Conway will transition from Director of Humanities to Executive Director for Humanities and Innovative Learning (overseeing professional learning as well as library, literacy, ELA, Social Studies, and APPR) and Mrs. Mahreen Mustafa George will transition from Director of Student Engagement and Cultural Relations to Executive Director for Strategic Innovation and Student Engagement (overseeing District strategic planning and school action plans which implement and evaluate student programs and services that promote whole-child development and engagement).
