$15,000 Grant Supports Math Instruction at Penfield
Penfield Central School District received a $15,000 grant from the Bosch Community Fund to support K-12 math instruction.
The grant allows the District purchase Building Fact Fluency addition and subtraction toolkits. These interactive kits are designed to help young learners recall basic math facts quicky and accurately. The kits will be used in kindergarten, first, and second grades.
Additionally, the grant will fund the purchase of document cameras. A modern version of an overhead projector, these cameras display live, high-resolution images of objects, papers, books, or demonstrations. Students can use the cameras to show their work more quickly, especially when problems are solved using different strategies. In math, this celebrates the different way s student may arrive at the right answer.
The Bosch Community Fund, the corporate foundation for Bosch in North America, was established in 2011 to provide community engagement and philanthropic support on behalf of the company.
