Elliot Named Outstanding Senior

During a ceremony hosted by the Monroe County Council of School Superintendents’ (MCCOSS), Penfield High School senior Aidan Elliot was recognized as a Michael C. O'Laughlin Outstanding Senior.
The ceremony brings together districts from across Monroe County and the City of Rochester to honor students who have excelled in their academic scholarship while demonstrating exceptional leadership, service, and character.
The award is named in memory of Dr. O’Laughlin, a respected educator who served as BOCES 2 district superintendent from 2007 until his passing in 2009. In 2012, the award was renamed in his honor to recognize his decades of service to education and his deep commitment to students across the region.
From advanced mathematics to serving as the student representative on the Board of Education, Elliot embodies the spirit of a scholar who has taken full ownership of his journey. Throughout his time at PHS, he has embraced an incredibly rigorous schedule including 10 Advanced Placement courses and Calculus III. Elliot also serves as the president of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society, is a class officer, and a varsity athlete.
He credits the flexibility of Penfield schools for allowing him to explore unique interests in science, Spanish, and law while developing the deep intrinsic motivation that defines his success.
Elliot is committed to attending Harvard University this fall.
